Default SRS light on after ignition- 2000 accord coupe

Hello
I am contemplating on buying a 200 accord coupe. But the SRS light is on even after ignition and stays on through out the drive. What needs to be done to rectify this problem and how much would it cost approx if I take it to a honda certified dealer?

thanks
Kris

First you need to retrieve the stored code. I believe the only way is with a scan tool on that model.

I would recommend u not to buy the car until is check by a honda certified doctor. the srs system can be more expensive than a used engine. since the car is not urs then have the owner fix it or u can also go to the dealer and have them give u an estimate before anything.

I agree, have it checked out before you buy it. It could be very simple, or very bad. I know in my 00 coupe that if someone doesnt sit correctly in the passenger seat the SRS light comes on and the system disables the side airbags. It could be as simple as a loose wire, or a faulty sensor.

the SRS light comes on when there's a problem with the seatbelt fastener...the one on the floor u click it into...mine's been on in my 00 accord for like 5 months...it's about 200 bucks to fix it...if u get in an accident with it like that your airbag wont deploy. I dont plan on gettin in any wrecks, so i never got around to fixing it haha

That's not the only reason it will come on....
And yes it would still deploy in an accident...
