Default Cable Transmission Probs

Hey guys, I have a '88 honda accord w/ a manual transmission. One day I was warming up the car after a hard days work, and after it was warm, I pushed the clutch in to put 1st gear in, and the cable on the tranny snapped, I was so pissed off, well, anyways, it is hard to replace that part? I've been calling the local part shops and the average price for a used cable is $45, is that a good price? I hope I can fix this problem myself, since i really need that car. Thanks for your feedback really appreaciate it.

are you referring to the clutch cable (for older hondas) or one of the 2 cables that connects the stick to the transmission (i think it's referred to as the shift linkage)

depending on where it snapped it shouldn't be too hard to replace.
