Default 95 Accord Sludge

I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles. Have 109,000 now and was told there is a sludge problem. They opened up the engine and said since there is sludge buildup the engine is bad and needs to be replaced? Cant the sludge be removed?

Ewww...that is really gross.

So they are saying you need a new engine because of the sludge? They are so full of shit. Get your car put back together and flush the engine like wedley said.

I highly recommend engine flushes. I ran one on our old maxima which had a good chunk of sludge and i got 9 liters of fluid out. (the VQ engine is about 3.0L for reference - so that means that the engine flush fluid ate up and cleaned up the engine to produce 6L of sludge, which was all removed from the car!) Car ran like a gem afterwards, and this was at about 197K. (Maxima engines are the sh!*T!

Hmm. Let's see... Buy a new engine or clean the current engine that runs fine? Hmmm. Call me crazy. I'm going with: clean the existing!

Default Flush with Auto-Rx

Yeh, the auto-rx from Bobistheoilguy site is great stuff. Just follow the instructions and it works wonders. You may want to do two treatments if you have that much sludge.

How is this possible? There's no way it holds 9 liters of fluid. And why is he subtracting the 3.0 liters of engine displacement to come up with 9L - 3 L = 6 L. What kind of math is that?

his math makes sense. 9 liters of fluid - 3 liters of engine oil flush = 6 liters of sludge. but maybe he's confused between quarts and liters? :dunno:
