Default trunk board material?

does anyone kno wat the material between the spare tire and the trunk carpet for a 93 accord is made of? i was told that as soon as i replace my tail lights that i wont hav water in my trunk anymore to once that is done i hav to replace that board that is there. would it be cheaper to go to the junkyard and see if i can find one there or is that a piece that i can buy and cut to fit?

You can try a junk yard, or if you have a system, or you actually carry things in your trunk you might want to look into cutting something out of some plywood or something else since the factory one is not really that strong and bends easy.

I bought 1/4 in plywood and made that into that trunk board. Just buy some carpet and your good to go.
Also if you want it to flex like the OEM one you will have to buy some hinges also.

I would say no to the junkyard most junkyard i have seen put things in the trunk to get them off the ground like rims and or suspension bits...so i wouldnt think that the trunk board would be worth a darn... just find some thin fiber board and carpet it.
