Default vtec in 5th gen accord

hey my sister has a 94 accord coupe, canadian ex-r and i've heard that when vtec "kicks in" it makes a different noise.

i'm just wondering what rpm the vtec kicks in at? cause i've always wanted to see exactly how the boost feels like? i got shafted in my civic without a vtec.

the crappy thing is that the accord is an automatic...

any ideas?

i cant really tell when vtec kicks in on my accord. drive any prelude with a vtec motor and an intake, and you can really hear the vtec

i had a 94 accord EX, i think that is the canadian EX-R, anyway, mine had a catback exhaust and a removed resonator. i could feel it "kick in" at about 3700. somewhere between 3500 and 4000, if i remember correctly. it wasnt so much that you could feel it, like you can feel a turbo kick in, but you just know that its a lil different now that the VTEC is working, the engine is a lil more high pitched, i think. i can really feel it on my EX V6 now, which comes in at about the same place, i believe.

VTEC on a GSR, RSX, or prelude is definitely noticeable. on our 5th gens, you can hear it a little bit, but it isn't nearly as big a change as other cars with VTEC.

On my 6gen with i/e you can definately hear vtec kick in at about 4100 RPM. From a standstill the engine just gets louder and higher pitched. At about 4000-4100RPM the engine sound takes on a very distict rumbling sound. Its hard to explain, but you can definately hear it without a problem.

LOL well in the older SOHC VTECs you can feel the engagement just like most DOHC VTECs.. you can feel when my vtec engages which is around 4k.. when i installed my I/h/E i could feel the difference and hear it more even though my exhaust drowned it out most times

DOHC VTEC v. SOHC VTEC there is no comparison. It's a totally different car when you hit VTEC on a DOHC motor.

My F22b1 was like waa, waaaaaaaaa when I hit VTEC

My H22a is waaaa, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
