Default Newbie VAFC question

I have a '99 V6 auto Accord 2-dr. How hard are these to install? I think it'd be nice if the Vtec kicked in a little sooner than it does stock, but what sort of performance boosts will I see? Also, can they contribute to engine malfunctions if set improperly, or are there failsafe guards in place?

I don't really have any sort of formal training on engine mechanics, and haven't really done many mods to cars aside from cosmetic ones.

BTW, I just found this place and you guys are all pretty cool! It seems I have a LOT I could learn from sticking around here.

in your case, i'd stay away from vafc...
it won't help you go any faster...esp if you set your vtec points earlier...

go search in hondasociety.com, there are lengthy discussions archived...

the install itself is pretty easy, just tap the correct ecu wirres...
