91 Accord - SPEED SENSOR
Suspecting a problem with my speed sensor, I ordered a replacement via eBay.
I now see a difference. My speed sensor is held down with a cap that attaches with two 4" long spring clips.
The eBay replacement has two small bolt holes.
It's not clear if my original speed sensor attaches to the housing with anything other than friction and spring tension from the springs on the cap.
Should I try to pry it loose? Can the replacement with the mounting holes, which seems to have the correct height and cable end, replace the original?
Thanks,

This photo shows images of the replacement sensor.

They both match the photos of the speed sensor I purchased on eBay, ebay # 7949439414.
The difference is that my original speed sensor does not have the mounting holes. It appears to sit flush on top of the aluminum housing. Then, over the top of the sensor, there is a thin steel "lid" which has about 4" long springy ears. The ears reach under the housing flange, snapping in place.
With the spring loaded lid removed, I nudged the sensor with a screwdriver. It did not move. It's not clear if I could pry it up and if the replacement could be made to work.
I may be in trouble if I have the only Accord 4cyl auto with the spring mounted sensors.
If it helps, here some information from Carfax.

What I thought must be the speed sensor was in fact the EGR control valve.
The eBay item, http://i19.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/40/71/36_1_b.JPG, looks alot like the module which is mounted towards the top of the engine, but apparently it is buried down by the transmission.
