Default broken 5th gen, need help

So my homie got his stereo jacked about a month ago, and they cut some of the wires when they were doing so which rendered his turning signals useless. Well, fast forward to yesterday, my other friend buys a used prelude and gives him the stock radio/cd player because he got an aftermarket one. so while he was installing his cd player, his wires were a lil short and he kinda pulled them forward so it could reach the cd player. After the radio install, he turned on the car and well, everything broke. The windows wouldnt go up anymore, the radio didnt come on or anti-theft light didnt blink, rpm/milage/speedometer stopped working, and the car wouldnt shift outta park. We had to put the key in the shift release to get it outta park, and had to start the car in neutral. So now we dont know what to do, he doesnt have a lot of money to send it to a dealer to get it fixed, anyone know how to fix any of this?

I would first take out the radio and start from there. Test each wire to see if they are getting power. Something is shorting it out, or he may have pulled the wires to hard and unplug something.

Just a thought!

Did he have his battery disconnected during the install? If he did, I'd check all the wiring again, see if anything is exposed, and making contact with the car or other wiring, and then check the fuses.
