Default Just go it.....

Hey guys.....

Just got a 2001 Accord 4 door, automatic, with 50,000 miles. What do you all suggest I do performance wise?? I don't wanna get too radical....just maybe pep it up a bit and remain basically stock.

Thanks for your input.

eh...automatic...

anyways, for more "pep" a short ram, lighter wheels, pulleys...

anyways, modifying something does not make it stock, lol...unless of course not going to the forced induction stage type of "stock"

actually this guy is giving a free carbon fiber short ram for trade of a stock airbox...

Nothing. You bought an automatic Accord sedan, if you wanted more performance you should've gotten a different kind of car. You're not going to feel any real differences in power until you spend over a grand.

Just go with your simple intake, exhaust and header upgrades but if you really want to enjoy your car work on the suspension first. Your car wont be fast but it sure will handle well.

sell it, and buy an earlier manual accord. Use the extra money to put into the suspension and engine. Otherwise if you wanna keep the 2001 auto, they're aint really much you can do save for a noisey intake and some fresh wheels.

if your not in cali, get a high flowing catlytic converter. get some headers, pulleys, alloys. with a cai you will not sound stock, probably goes for the headers too, i just did my headers and the car is sounding like shit i gotta fix my O2 sensor though.

it depends on where you wanna be hp-wise. i dont think a car is peppy unless it has around 200hp(my opinion) if you wanna be peppy your gonna have to abandon the whole "pretty much stock" thing especially with an auto (believe me i have one too) i guess there is an order of quickness: slow, peppy, fast, monstrous lol. but definitely having an auto is a big wall to overcome i heard they rob your car of about 22% of its hp to the wheels.(whp) since you havent done anything to your car yet, you may wanna think about selling it and getting the manual since a swap will cost you around $2,000

If you wanted performance you should have gotten a different car. HOWEVER! you can greatly improve the fun factor of your car by changing the suspension, adding strut and sway bars, and a nice set of rims with sticky rubber. This way your car will handle like a dream and "feel" a lot quicker.

:werd: Stick with suspension, wheels, tires. That'll make the car a whole lot faster and fun than the same money spent on the motor. Yes, I said faster...maybe not in a straight line, but much more fun to tear up a backroad than knock off .5 seconds on an et.
