Default 6 Gen. 4dr: Red tail light bulbs for turn sig.?

I am thinking about changing the bulbs to red ones for cleaner look. Does it work since there is an orange piece inside the tail light turn signals? For those who have tried it, how is the color and light output?

I havent tried it but if you want it to work then you have to pull the tail lights apart and remove the orange piece seal them back and put the red bulbs in then you will be able to enjoy your true red turn signals, good luck.

I've seen this on a 96 civic sedan. Kinda tripped me out. He has the stock taillights but when he flipped on his turn signal, it came out red. I tried to duplicate it myself, but red bulbs alone doesn't do it (it just made the light seem kinda dull). I'm guessing that he was using an LED bulb to make it shine a bright red through the orange reflector.

Since no one mentioned this, Note: This is completely legal in the USA. The DOT required colors for turn signals are red or orange, and obviously for reverse is white. This is most evident in the 6th generation Accord coupe (all red tails), and the 2nd generation RSX.

If you have a 98-00 get the aftermarket half red half clear tails. If you have a 01-02 open em up and take out the orange box.

Red and clear is the only way to go. That's why I love my TYCs, even though they're aftermarket, they retain most of the stock look with just a tad more aggressive styling. No chrome, etc. (TYCs on a coupe, not sedan. They're ugly on a sedan)

I took that advice from you a while ago, and ended up having to buy new tail lights... I didnt seal them correctly for some reason and started to get condensation.

What type of sealant do you have to use to put the lights back together?? Whats the best choice?

Sorry to hear it...I never had any problems with my headlights I opened...3 years with no condensation. :dunno:

For the headlights, I just used the factory glue, got it nice and warm and pushed the two parts back together. I've heard of people adding some silicone around them, but I would at least use the factory glue.
