Default DIY pinstripe help!!

Aight so i'm trying to take off the pinstripes from my friend's car, experiment his before mine hehehe, but we've run into some problems. After taking off the stripes, there is a goey residue that we can't seem to take off. At first we used Goo gone and that took long as hell... then we went to the store and bought Krud Kutter... but that sh1t is eating up the paint, although the sales associate said otherwise... I used Goof off to take off my tint before but I heard that would destroy the paint too. Has anyone done this before?! any suggestions?!

use a degreaser or a clear coat polish. you can always use starting fluid and spray a little bit on a towel but dont rub hard.

Goo Gone is the sh*t... just leave it soaking for a bit. If that don't work, WD-40 works for stickies too.
