Default door latch question

I ask this on the civic forum, I thought I better post it here to see if anyone knows..

OK, lets see if I can explain this right..when you open the door, the latch inside the door itself, it latches onto the metal piece / hook on the car. Can that be adjusted? I have a 2005 and it sounds like it slightly rubs it, on the passenger side its silent. Almost like it needs adjusted up or down a hair. Is that possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem on my Civic 96. You should figure out should you lift your door or lower it down. If you know that than you should see if you can reach 4 bolts that are holding door's mount breakets. I had a hard time to reach them. if you can't reach them than I think you shoul remove a fender and that would be suck. See if you can get these bolts.
