Was driving home from store CEL light just came on.. ... when i got home I tried jumpering ports 8 and 13 to get the CEL code but the light just came on and stayed on again without blinking or anything . Didn't seem to have any problems when i was driving it. i have a 2001 4cyl ULEV manual. what you guys think? Does the light come on if its time for normal service... it has about 40800 miles on it....

After you jump the connector you have to turn your key off then to the II position.

Look at the damn link. Do what it says. Make sure the paper clip is making contact with the metal on both ends.
