Default Port and Polish

soon im gonna have enough loot to go nitrous, but i dont like the concept of refilling the bottles costing money, and me having a slushbox doesnt help matters any. and i am looking at lightweight wheels, and this port and polishing witchcraft thats mentioned in many older threads. so how much hp is gained from getting a portnpolish??

a p&p by itself wont get you too much. but combined with better internals to let the engine breath better the gains will be there.

Give up dude, it's not going to happen. In all likelihood, YOU NEED A NEW CAR.

OR you could save up some more money and get a turbo...shit would be pretty damn fast. You would be faster then a h22 boosting 5psi, and damn near 300hp boosting 9 on stock internals.

yeah right... do you know how low CR fseries motors are stock? accordfreak was boosting his f22b1 on stock internals at 14psi on a hondata s200 tuned by Jason aka (st00pid) and barely hit 270hp.

to the orginal poster if you barely have enough money for nitrous then you have no where enough to get internasl (i.e wiseco pistons, eagle rods, sleeves, valvetrain..springs, retrainers, etc... and the cost to get the block assembled).

Okay, you got dyno pictures to prove that im assuming? If not, then you can look at these dynos of an f23 boosted 5psi hitting 200whp (which is already faster then a h22) on stock internals.
http://www.honduh.com/showthread.php...&pagenumber=13

And then theres this dude thats hitting 210lb tq @ 2800rpms @ 9psi, and this is on an auto on stock internals!
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...3&page=2&pp=45

But yeah, you can say what you want about whatever, but if you dont have hard facts (dyno picture) then its all hear say, and hear say dont mean shit. And i dont think that 300hp- not 300whp, is that crazy of an assumption when youre boosting the f23's.

Edit: 270whp is over 300hp. Since the rule of thumb is flywheel horsepower is 22% greater then wheel horsepower for automatics, and 17% for manual, that would make your friends accord 329.4hp or 315.9hp depending on what tranny he has.

well now i know what internals are... cost too much, simple, i just wont get that done then. well how do i go about getting the bigger pistons? do i need other stuff, for that? i have no idea

I think kenton is on the right track...you either need to
1. Be happy with your car,
2. Do a bunch of research before asking more about internals, etc, or
3. Get a different car.

If it was me, and you don't have the budget for a new car, but want yours to perform better...I'd forget about straight line acceleration because no matter what you do, unless you have $5-10K or so, it's still going to be slow.

Instead, put your money into quality sticky tires, quality suspension upgrades. Having a good handling car is the first priority for me. If you get the car handling great, you decide you want to go all out and do engine mods, go for it.
