just curious how do you check to see if your car has abs? just popped in my head, doesn't have a abs light on when in accessory mode, and doesn't say abs on the brake pedal, its a 98 4dr lx 4cy

 

civic LX doesn't have ABS. only EX and SI have it .

in general you'll want to look for allot of breake lines (little pipes) that are going in the same place and different from the master cylinder (the thing with the break fluid resevoir on top of it in the front of the driver)

as far as I know, hondas/acuras have the ABS modulator on the passager side in the engine compartiment.

 

LX's don't come with ABS.

 

Yeah... my EX has ABS, but when we were testing it's brakes in the snow (Minnesota) vs. my cousins LX, we both seemed to have the same braking distances... I know mine has ABS, but I'm not sure if its working too well?

 

if it has ABS...there should be a light on the dash.....I'm glad I have a Canadian spec LX with ABS

 

Does it have an ABS modulator like this?? I think ABS was optional for the LX, standard on the EX.

It would be located in the left-front corner of the engine bay, forward of the shock tower, near the power-steering reservoir. It's got a big orange electrical plug & a bunch of steel brake lines.

 

when u turn the car on it says abs and if it dont say then u dont have it.

u should test the braking distance in bad weather raining etc.. thats when u see the big diff on car with abs vs non abs. u cant compare abs braking distance in good weather.
