I've been estimated at 2-3k.

Instead, I'm getting rid of all my aftermarket shit and selling the car before the transmission does die.

You've got an Accord LX, probably 100-120k miles, you might want to think about selling your car too. Your car appears to be a four door as well. You're driving a car with no ammenities and a ticking time bomb.

You might come to the same conclusion I did.

What issues are you having?
At 50k it may still fit under the Honda warranty extended on the trannies.

I'd go to Honda and get a tranny fluid change and evaluation....much cheaper to do this first then get a new tranny. And you may find out you qualify for a new one if needed, but that is a dealer by dealer call.

Call Honda Service, file a case. You might get some help. Also file a complaint on http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/

tranny rebuilds cost a grip and the warranties normally arent very good either. i personally dont trust rebuilt trannies. cheapest route would to probably find a used auto tranny and sell or hope that it will last.

my auto tranny also died but i have a 94 5th gen and was spraying a 75shot for almost 2 yrs. i was gonna just slap in another used auto tranny but i figured that with the way i was spraying n2o the auto would take a shit again so i converted to stick since it would be cheaper in the long run (did the labor myself so only paid for parts).
