Another tranny test
Ok,
another test on my tranny to see if the syncros are goin or not.
I just sat in the car with engine on.
shifting is fine @ idle , i pump the revs to 3500-4000 and it gets tougher to get in any gear and grinds when going from neutral to third at the higher 3500-4500 rpm.
to avoid any grind I usally milk 1 and 2nd and apply light pressure to the shift stick and let her pop in smooth by herself into 3rd 4th and 5th while the RPMs come down.
Clutch? or syncro.
clutch is not slipping.

Its the syncho gears. Same exact thing happend with my 90 after about 230,000 miles. You can actually drive with it like that for a long time if you dont need to shift fast. I sold the car with 265,000 miles on it and never replaced them.
