Default 94-97 EX ECU swap into 95 LX ???

hello.... my 95 LX 4dr 5sp is speed limited at 119 mph- i would like to swap out the ECU for an EX version to take care of this problem. I can get one for $30-100 at the junkyard..... is this possible? i mean will the fact that EX has VTEC and LX does not make a difference? could i use an EX ECU for any 94-97? or do i have to use one specifically for a 95? and do other factors such as coupe/ sedan or manual/ automatic configurations make a difference in the ECU? and finally...........where is the ECU located and how would i change it out???
thanks

Getting an ECU without having VTEC in your motor will do absolutely nothing for you. All you'll do is waste money. And if u can find a 5th gen ECU so cheap then let me know where so i can one :chuckles:

i understand that the EX ecu won't do "anything" for me since i don't have VTEC, however, my only goal is to elminate the 119mph speed limitation (which ic only present on DX/LX) having said that, what i need to know is.....by sawpping the EX ecu into my LX, will the speed limitation be lifted? and will my car still run/ operate properly? if anyone has any experience with this..........please enlighten me.....and again: if this is possible, could i use an EX ecu from any 94-97 accord? or do i have to stick with specifically the 95 model?........................thanks

the ecu is under the passengers front carpet(right where you would put your feet)you pull the carpet up and there is a peice of metal covering the ecu(so you cant really see it that well) but its attached to the bottom of that metal peice. You will need a 10mm socket. once you pull the bolts out you will need to flip it over unbolt and unplug the ecu(maybe but not necessarily in that order). As long as its obd1 which im pretty sure that it is (i think 96 started obd2) then you can use the 90-93 EX ecu. they dont have governers either. But just a little extra information on the governer thing.

I have already stated this in a previous post so i just copied and pasted it:

I am 99.9% sure that Honda governers are in the tranny not in the ecu. You can argue all you want to but i know for a fact that me and my boy both have h22a swaps. I have the FULL swap (h22a engine and tranny) and he only has the engine he kept his F22 tranny. We BOTH have AFTERMARTKET reprogramed ecu's(not just chipped) and he has a VAFC II w/vtec controller. Mine no longer cuts off and will do 150 or faster all day long. His STILL CUTS OFF at 120 in the either the top of 3rd gear or the bottom of 4th.

That was my post this is just more insight.
in other words he has a skunk2 reprogramed p13 ecu not just a stock accord ecu thats been reflashed. Mine is the jun setup. both claim to remove speed limiters and raise revlimiters. His cuts off... mine doesnt. He kept his stock tranny, i didnt. I say it again his cuts off and mine dosent. But i just had a marvel idea... im going to end this discussion once and for all. Tonight i will put my stock ecu back into my car and take it out and see if it cuts off at 120. Then this mystery will be solved. Ill post later this evening when i find out.
