What d u think?
94 accord lx automatic... My girlfriends car, her tranny went and i took it to a transmission shop, i wouldve did it myself but i had a bullshit warranty. CARS protection plus. (scammers) Anyhow, before the tranny went the car would clunk when downshifting and didnt upshift to smooth but not as harsh as when it downshifted. The transmission shop replaced it with a used tranny cause thats what the warranty would only pay for. Now, the car still clunks when downshifting ( does that have to do wit the tranny?) and feels a little better when upshifting. Is this early signs of the transmission going bad cause the last tranny did it a while before it went. The last transmission started slipping once hitting 40 mph and got worse and worse through the day and the next morning it didnt move at all. I got the car back today and need to know if i should hassle these guys. I got a 90 day warranty on the used tranny they put in. i paid 500 from my pocket cause the warranty would only pay 660. After i invested 1200+ into the damn plan. Help me out with your opinions on what condition the tranny mite be in and if i should act on it.
is the tranny that they put in USED or REBUILT?? it makes a BIG difference... and i would say yes take it back in either way, be like " bitches its still doing the same thing." and the other thing is MAKE sure you know they replaced your tranny.... put a mark on the one you have now, like a scratch or something, so that you can distinguish it from any other. and if they do """ replace it """ again ask to see the old part.
BTW YOU ALWAYS WANNA ASK TO SEE THE OLD EQUIPMENT... PEOPLE ARE LIARS THESE DAYS. make sure you make it clear that you wanna see the old tranny and for them to keep it, and have someone like sign off or something else that would be credible. sometimes they will just try to do a temp fix on it to get you out the door, then 90 days later they be like... OO WE CAN"T HELP YOU... I've acctaully heard of places putting like saw dust in trannys, this will eliminate all signs of damage untill its too late to do anything about it. hope that helps man
