Default SRS Light related to new battery?

I replaced my battery and had my oil changed two days ago on my 2000 Accord V6. Yesterday the SRS light came on. My Honda dealer says it's not related to switching out the battery and that I should schedule it in for diagnostics. I'm no mechanic, but the timing seems suspect. Any comments?

Welcome to HAN.
I wish I knew. I personally don't want to touch my SRS cause I don't want it pop!
Someone here can prolly tell you more later on though.

You can manually reset the light... as long as youre sure that nothing else has gone wrong with the SRS system. The seat was removed my my dad's pilot, which triggered the light. All you have to do is short out a plug in one of the fuse compartments.

DO a search, im pretty sure it has come up in the forums before.

Actually it CAN be related. If the battery is disconnected for too long, it can trigger the SRS light for a "faulty SRS module". But also, bad seat belt buckles are also known to trigger the SRS light, which would be a free repair.

If your voltage in the car falls low enough it can trip a code!

it's a sensor in the seat belt buckles. my SRS light is on right now and i have to have the driver buckle replaced. when that light is on your air bag wont deploy if u get in a wreck, so if you care about that kinda thing you should go get it checked out...if not, let somebody you dont like borrow your car, cut the brake lines, and enjoy the mayhem...peacE
