Default Accord Squeaking Problem

Hi Guys:

Whenever I start my car, I hear a loud squeak from uder the hood. It is hard to isolate where the squeak is coming from. The squeak goes away after the car starts. It is louder on colder days. I took it to the local mechanic and he said that it is probably the starter.

I am wondering if anyone has had this problem before or if anyone knows the fix to this.

thanks,

the rubber on the belt gets stickier as it heats up which allows it to grab and not squeak anymore.

You'll have to replace the belt or it will continue to squeak till it breaks.

Try some belt dressing. It's not gonna fix it permanently, but you can use it to convince yourself that it's the belt. Or not the belt...

In my old accord the P/S belt used to do that. When you did the tune up did they change any belts? or did they leak fluid on them?

They changed the timing belt and all the drive belts. Whats a P/S belt?
