Default Water Pump

Info:
I was at my mechanics this week-end, getting a few things done and he noticed that my water pump was leaking coolant. Seems that he thinks it may a problem with my head gasket as well because in the last 3 months I've also had to change my Rad (92 Accord). Well to make things short, he gave me a quote to have the pump and belt changed at around $1400 but I think he' trying to take me for a ride . Does anyone know a mechanic in montreal (QC, Canada) that I can bring my car to so they could look at it....I really don't want to shell out $1400 when I know it should be cheaper.

I actually got another quote from someone else for around $900 for parts and work, but that's the cheapest I got so far.

Yeah may as well change the timing belt while you're in there. I changed mine myself for $116.21, belt and water pump.

1400 is a lil high... but you said he was going to change out the head gasket and the waterpump right? I assume he would also replace all the seals/belts that you run into along the way. 1000 sounds right for all of that.

Yeah, I actually got another quote for water pump and timing belt for $395, so that seems to be the one I'm going to go with. Thanks for the assist guys.
