Default My H22A Info plz, need feedback

I Just got my car back saturday with my new swap jdm h22a motor, h22a tranny, ecu. with short ram intake, they put on Matrix polished headers(not my choice dont make fun) They didn't tell me other then when I picked it up hey u owe us another $200 for the headers by the way. Something about the bottom half of stock header was mia.

Just a couple questions and some info I need.

Here is some info of the block H2A8-4003396, H22A 1153961 also there is something circled it says LAM

I am just trying to determin what engine I acutally got I'm curious.

Also How loud is everyone elses vtec when it kicks in? I can feel it just seems like it should be alot louder. Also the gearing is so different I mean you can go like 70 or so in 2nd gear. Can some of you others with a JDM h22a swap give me some input, or anyone that really knows what the gearing specs and other info is like.

Thanks,
Wesside

P.S I will post pictures later

You got an H22 from that stamp.

Well im to sure about the VTEC noise...You might be expecting to hear something like a GSR Vtec kicking in but I think the H22 kicks in at say 5500 and redline is 7000.

Dont quote me on that, just what I think.....Try the Prelude forums, they might be able to help.

well you definately have an H22. The amount of noise when vtec hits is different between cars, parts and tuning. Mine is really loud and pulls, but of course I have a VAFC and my car has been tuned to do so. My buddy just has Type-S cams and the thing pops pretty loud and pulls really hard. With a stock H22 it should generally be pretty quiet and transition should be smooth so don't be worried about it.

The H22 transmission has shorter gearing than the F22 tranny your previously had. So hense you can still be around 70 in 2nd gear.

here are the gear ratios

1992-1996 Honda Prelude coupe manual H22A M2B4 3.307 1.950 1.360 1.034 0.787 - 4.26

1994-1997 Honda Accord DX/LX coupe/sedan manual F22B2 P2A5 3.307 1.809 1.185 0.903 0.685 - 3.000 4.062 USDM

Also the redline of an H22 is 7200rpm, fuel cutoff should be 7800, so go all the way to 7800 if you want With that comment said. If you break your motor by over revving somehow,I am in no way liable if you do cuz I said you could go to 7800rpm

I was told red is 8,200 rpm
My tach only goes to 8 and that is the farthest I have pulled it to. I kinda just wonder why vtec isnt alittle bit louder I have i/h/e

The only way your fuel cutoff is 8200 rpm is if you ecu is chipped. Which I doubt is. Your specs as should be as I stated before. 5500 is when vtec kicks in, 7200 is redline, 7800 is fuel cutoff. You should've done more research before you went and bought the motor and had it put it.

And yes the tranny is JDM spec, it should be the same to USDM.

I did my research, only thing I really didnt know to much about and couldn't find to much info on whats the gear ratio's of the h22a tranny. I am not dissapointed at all, I am very happy I got the jdm h22 engine, tranny, ecu

So 7800 is fuel cutoff and pulling it to 8,000 is just for nothing?

Your tach may say that you are hitting 8000rpm, but in reality the stock tach is off. Once you get an aftermarket tach, or something that actually reads the true RPM, then you will know

Try and go passed 8k a little bit, your car will cut off and start to boggg, have fun
