Default 5th Generation Accord Starter Noise

Whats up guys and gals? I havent been here in years...im surprised my screen name still works.

Anyway here is my problem. While im starting my accord there is a screaching noise. Very similar if not exactly the same screaching noise that it makes if you try to start the car when its already running. I know its not the squealing noise from a belt or anything. Do I need to start investing in a new starter?

if it is the starter and you have a 90-02 accord and it automatic i have one in good condition for sale. $25+shipping, wouldnt hurt to try.

i have it leftover from my auto to manual conversion, i used a 5spd prelude starter on my 94 accord.

Take the starter off & look for damaged teeth on the starter pinion & on the drive plate ('flywheel'). Bonestock's starter might only fix half the problem if the driveplate has some mangled teeth.
