Default Tires/Rims Problem 95v6 Accord

my tires has worn out very badly and i need to replace it, that wat the guy did the allignment for my car told me. he saids all 4 tires of my car will cost around 350..that is too ***** expensive just for tire alone, and beside my rims is stock and its too old already. im thinking of replacing the rims as well. so i wonder if any of you have extra rims lying around the house..or stock tire with rims that aren't too old. i will buy it with reasonable price isntead of just 350 for the tire alone w/o the rims. Thnx guys
P.S I live in the Orange county, CA. so please no shipping..i'm willing to pick it up. and my tire size is 60/R15.if that helps.

That's not a bad price for tires?
That's about 15ea for mount and balance and about 73ea per tire.
A quality name brand tire can cost about that.

You may be able to get a cheaper tire for around 50 or 60ea, but without knowing the exact tires he recommended it's hard to say.

i'm not sure i know exactly what you talking about? wat do you mean by "15 each mount and $ 73? i do'nt really know specification about the tire..but im guesing for my size of tire, which is 60/R15, i should be paying around 200 or so for that kind of tire., above 250 i would consider that is a rip off.

If I were you I'd buy a set from TireRack.com. They are pretty cheap even with the shipping charge. When you get them, get them mounted for about 40-50 bucks. I just bought a set of these for my 93 civic... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Note that the tire listed there is in YOUR size (95 lx v6 sedan). I paid $39 a piece for mine. Yours is more expensive since your running 15's. Shipping for me was about $32 so it came to $187.12 for 4 of them shipped to my house. I'll end up spending $240 approximately for them after mount/balance.

Tires are not cheap by no means. It also depends on the quality/type of tire too. The statement "If the price per tire is over $50, it's a rippoff" is not correct IMO. Some tires last longer than others, some tires grip better than others, some tires' ride comfort are better than others, some tires' wet traction are better than others. Buying a tire is a hard decision sometimes if you haven't had alot of "tire buying and driving" experience.

My best advice, don't be cheap, keep an open mind and read reviews!

He obviously isnt into spending any amount of money on his car. He just wants tires that will "last". Oh well, not the way I'd go.
