Well let's see...first of all there is the problem of knowing how to do the stuff, and if you don't know then you can't do it. And if there is someone there who can do it better then you can learn from then because sometimes people are better teachers than manuals. And finally time savings of getting an experienced person to do it for you when you don't have a clue. I @ least speak for myself when I say that I wish I could do all these things by myself, but if problems come up and you need it fixed quickly a lower cost than you would get from the dealer, then why not enlist the help of someone else?

Isn't that the fun of having a car though, is learning how to do things that most people have to pay money for? Sure it might take longer, but in the end you get the satisfaction of knowing you did it.

I will put my opinion in on this.

I LOVE/WANT/WISH i could do everything myself. But the risk is there of majorly screwing up ur daily driver. Most of us ONLY have our Accords so its not easy doing somethin we know nothing about on our cars. If i had another car it would be totally different. I could take my time with repairs instead of doing it as fast as i can so i can use it the next day.

The big thing that i'm scared to even attempt is changint my timing belt/balancer belt/water pump which i'll prolly eventually getting somebody to change at 90k. Probably NOT honda either...a local shop i trust.

Most other things i do myself. But some i do not. Go figure...
