Default Catalytic converter in CA

I need a new CAT ASAP, due for registration in 10 days, so I have to get it smogged. OEM cost about $800 installed. I called Magnaflow they are saying that their cat's aren't CA legal, but they only cost ~$150. Is there any other brand that is CA legal, or has anyone passed smog in CA with a Magnaflow cat?

Go to inlinefour.com, their specials page has the Car Sound Cat for $75.00. I believe it is manufactured by Magna Flow. It should pass the "sniffer test" no problem. You just have to have it installed by a muffler shop, prolly cost you about $50-$100. If your car is OBD 2 you can have them weld on an extra bung for the extra O2 sensor.

every shop I went to and everywhere I called I was told that for the 6th gen the only legal option in CA is oem, then I found extremeflow.com, which is located in cali, they are claiming that their cat is legal, however it's $326+ a weld job. Has anyone had experience with them.

just smog under the table...like i said $150 or so...and your set for 2 years...or newer cars may be 3yrs...you could also find a cheap cat in that 2 year time and put it on yourself...

carsound cats are carb approved.

get one on ebay and ask if you can pay extra to expedite the shipping. unless you can find a shop somewhere that sells them locally.
