uhhh, you do know that the O2 sensor has to be connected to the exaust... so that the sensor is inside the pipe... right?

What year/make/model is your car? On my 94 Accord the O2 sensor does not sit in the cat, but it does sit in the pipe right before the cat. And if you try to get your car smogged with the 02 sensor "wrapped around something", they will laugh at you before they test your vehicle.

on odb2 96 and 97 accords (and most other cars) there are two o2, one on the manifold and one in the cat.

your car should have a CEL by now and will run like shit in safe mode cuz its not getting the right o2 readings for your ECU to operate properly. get a cat that has the proper o2 bung, genius... why did you even install it if you saw that theres no o2 bung

its made specifically for a 97 accord and it isnt running like shit, the engine light isnt on, there are no problems whatsoever. i was just wonderin if i removed the o2 sensor by the Cat (like cut it off or something) if the car would perform any better. most hi-flow cats come with no o2 bung

It shouldn't run like shit, if the ecu isn't seeing O2 sensor input it runs on look up fuel mapping tables pre-programed into the ecu.

wow how is your car not getting a cell with an o2 unplugged?

how is it made for your 97 accord if it doesnt have an o2 bung?

what brand cat is it? is it a high flow cat you got off ebay? if your state has emissions testing, a no name high flow cat will most likely fail.

with the o2 disconnected i bet he's running richer than normal, gas mileage will go to hell, so yes it will run like shit, not complete uter shit but shittier than normal.

if his car is modded like many of us, even simple little mods like i/h/e an adjustable FPR, fuel rail, and maybe timing advanced, those preprogrammed fuel maps wont work so good.

you need something like... with an O2 bung

thats exactly why theres no o2 bung cuz its an egay generic "high flow cat" but in reality its not even a catalytic convertor its just a test (straight) pipe with a shield over it. hope you dont have emissions in your state cuz you will most def. fail. but if you dont have emissions then having the test pipe wont hurt performance, but not having the 2nd o2 in may. you just wont be filtering any of the exhaust gas. some ppl have said that with test pipes they get more sut on their rear bumper and some have a rotten egg smell to their exhaust.
