Default help on alarm install

My friend has an '86 honda accord, and we found an alarm in my garage with keyless entry and remote start. Since i have no need for it because i have keyless entry and my car has to have the clutch engaged to start, we will be installing it on his car tommorrow. What we need is a wiring diagram for the car with colors and volts and such or a step by step DIY or any DIY for that matter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

-ps I've been searching forever and got nothing

What kind of alarm is it? They don't all have the same wiring. Why do you want an alarm on an 86 Accord anyway? Is there a system in it and everything? Usually if you are new to alarms, it is recommended that you get it professionally installed, but since it's an old car, I guess you could use it as an experiment car.

so it doesnt get stolen like my 4th gen thats why you would want an alarm system.

but i would suggest getting it professionally installed, i had an alrm system and when i looked at the wiring diagrams i was pretty lost. didnt want to screw anything up either.

but if you really want to do it, then search on google for 3rd gen accord wring diagrams.

Go to the12volt.com ,register and do a search in their wiring database, that'll get your wire colors. Step by step I don't see happening, it's not advised for people who don't know what they're doing to install an alarm.

ok heres a secret for the newbie alarm installers out there, you only use about half of the wires when u are installing an alarm. most of the time, alarms come with positive and negative output triggers to set off or turn on functions on your car such as door locks or light flashing. i think all hondas usse negative triggers, most cars do. the alarm will also most likely have all of the relays to make everything work as well, unless u want the alarm to trigger something custom, like making some gay undercarriage lights turn on when u remote start. other than that, its really pretty easy. hardest part is to find where all the wires are on the car, some are in pretty tight spots where soldering can be difficult, but most alarm shops that u bring your car to will only "twist" the wire on anyway, so for a quality job, DIY.

and use wire looming and don't just stick the brain somewhere obvious, get creative, takes you more work but it's worth it. Try to make all the wires look like they were there from the factory.

When I installed my alarm I removed the dash cluster and shoved the brain WAYYYYYYYY in there.
I mean the only way to get to it would be to remove the cluster.
Even from underneath the dash you cant reach or touch it. I think thats a job well done by me ( Pats myself on the back ):yay:
