Default Difference between an LX and an EX 5 speed?

I'm replacing the transmission in my sister's '90 and have found a few LX transmissions but car-parts says that there is a difference between the LX and EX. Does any one what the difference is and if they will interchange?
Thanks a ton.

It's for the 90. I thought I read some where that the gearing was slightly different between them but wanted to try to get an answer from one of you guys that might know for certain. Thanks for the reply, it's looking good so far.

The bolt pattern should be the same becuase they both are F22 motors, I think the EX gearing is better for a hair more top end.

Thanks guys. I bought an LX one off of Ebay for a pretty good price. I'm fixing it to sell and the lady that wants it drives like a grandma so I don't think top speed will be a problem for her.
