Default stock f23a question

hey everyone. i've been looking on the internet to see some stock specifications about honda's f23a engine. mainly to see whether or not it's a VTEC engine, since the typography on the head doesn't say anything but "16 Valve," and google isn't helping. any help is appreciated.

LX and EX Accord have the F23A1, thus its SOHC VTEC (Single Overhead Cam)

DX is SOHC NoTEC deprived.

thanks for all your help, guys. sadly, the engine is an f23a5, so no VTEC kick for me.

VTEC in the f23 is no big thrill, although you loose a few HP

it helps for highway driving tho, kicks in right when you wanna pass somthing, kinda built like that (the autos cruise at highsways at about 2-3k), and then you hit it right into vtec to do whatever you need

F23a1 engine is used in Accord LX, EX 4 cycls. 150 hp, 148 tq.
it is vtec, but sohc for fuel effency purpose, not all VTEC makes big number powers.
I am sure K20's(civic SI, RSX-S) and K24s(CR-V, TSX) have much more power rating, yet has almost same fuel effencecy.

it's a whole different setup of VTEC from B and H serise motors, rather then making more power.
it controls the valves for maxim gas saving.
