Default 04' tires and steering issues

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I read a review on the 04' Accord that cited the steering as being somewhat innacurate for lack of a better word. I don't recall exactly how the described it, but i have noticed that my 04' coupe's steering is not as good as my 2001 civic's was. It seems to never have a center point and feels like it wants to wander. I'm always correcting for it much more than my civic. I wish i could describe it better, but i can't seem to find the words, so i'm hoping someone who also has noticed this might chime in.

I also can't help but think it might be tire related. I have the bridgestone turenzas, but i believe it may depend on just when you bought your latest gen Accord as to whether you got turenzas with it or not. Possibly the reason for most reviews not mentioning this steering issue is that many or most of the reviewers had non-turenza equipped Accords? Also i read many reviews on the turenza and found a lot of people complaining that they had to have them replaced because one or more of them were out of round. So does anyone have any opinions on the turenzas good or bad ? I'd really like to hear from anyone who has gotten new tires for the latest gen Accord to replace stock turenzas and what they experienced from the change both in regards to the steering issue and any other things you noticed such as quietness and grip.

I just got an '04 Accord Coupe as well and I haven't noticed any steering issues with mine. Mine also came equipped with the bridgestones. I only have around 800 miles on mine so far, so maybe it hasn't come into play yet. I'll let you know if it does. Do you have the EX V6 like I do? I wonder if it matters if you have the V6 or the V4? Just a thought.

Mine is a 4. That could make a difference i would think. But are your bridgestones turenzas, and if so which one? there are a few different models of turenza and the 6 may have different ones due to the extra power the same way they use different wheels for the 6 and 4 cylinder models. I can't recall the exact model # of mine, but i think it contains the # 41, like "L41" or something like that. I should also mention it's not a major issue and is somewhat subtle, but noticable if your last car was more accurate in the steering like mine was.

The Bridgestones are the same for the V6 and I4.......Not a single change.

be happy you didn't get the michelin mxv4's like me. they are the worst tires i have ever had. horrible traction in the rain they are down right dangerous how little traction you get. i think the steering is not as tight as the civic. my gf has an 02 civic and the steering is very tight on it.

It's heavier too, which i was just thinking could be why it feels that way. That due to the fact that those very very slight steering adjustments you make that normally are so small you don't even notice you're doing it, are much more noticable because you have to use some muscle as opposed to a car like the civic who's steering wheel moves far easier. But again, that could be the tires i suppose.

i hate the steering in my 04, i just got out of a 91 legend and that car was a dream to drive compared to a brand new accord, kinda wish i went with a used '99+ RL instead of the accord. i have the michelins and its been raining pretty bad here the past few weeks, no complaints in the rain, car feels very stable aside from the wish washy steering

Ah, i knew it wasn't just me. i do love the car tho. I have a few small complaints, but no car is perfect, at least not at the price i paid. If they'd fix that steering and make the car quieter i'd be extremely pleased.
