Default CAI and A/C hose conflict... Anybody experience this?

I wish I had a picture I could show you all, but the question is...

Has anyone had a problem with their CAI coming in contact with an A/C hose/pipe (the one leading into the passenger bay to the evaporator) and causing a leak in the A/C hose/pipe? I have this problem, and I wonder how common it is...

I'm going to get some pics up to demonstrate what I mean if this is not clear enough...

I won't be surprised if this is an improper installation issue...

Here are the pics... Please let me know what you think... Has this happened to anyone here? Is there a way to avoid this in the future? I really don't want to take my CAI out and go back stock....

You must not have the AEM directions.

You must slightly bend the AC hardling down, you should also place a piece of hose over the AC line and zip tie the hose in place.

AEM recommends 1/4-1/2" gap between the CAI and the AC hose you show.
But I have about 1/8" and it appears to be fine.

Installing the bypass valve also has given me more room to flex the CAI to clear the hose.

Yes, you are correct... I didn't get the directions... I got the CAI from a friend that I met on here... He sent it to me and I just used the info he and this board gave me... It's cool though. You live and you learn...

Now, how exactly do I bend that hose without breaking it? You don't happen to have a .pdf of the installation instructions do you? I've had this thing on here for over 2 years now with no problem... Anyway, thanks for your help!!!!!

Well you can just sort of push down the entire hard line very-very carefully.
It's not going to move much 1/8" at most, but hopefully enough.

I'd definately cover the hardline with some rubber hose and use 2 small zip ties to shield the hose.

I'd also suggest you loosen then reposition the entire CAI, I was always redoing the POS connection b/t the CAI and the inner fender. That fitting sucked. They did away with this style setup in later edition CAI's. But I like you, have the junk original grey version 1. You may find bending the bracket on the pipe of the CAI just a bit will give you an extra 1/8" or so.

Cool. I appreciate your help. I have to get that A/C line and more freon... $250 for the job is what I was quoted.... Maybe I can have THEM bend it for me during installation... They may not do it for warranty's sake, but we'll see...

Ask them if they can make clearance when installing. It won't hurt the line to bend it a little. Sometimes a/c tubes have to be bent by mechanics to get the perfect fit, especially if they use an aftermarket part. A barrier would be a good idea; you can install that yourself. If you bend the line yourself, just make sure not to put stress on the hookup points.
