Default Maint Required Light is on

my maitnence required light is on. I think its becasue all the freon leaked out becasue of a hose leak that i am getting fixed tommorow. could no freon pressure be why? or what are some other common reas0on for the maint required light to be on. the engine runs good and smooth and has no changes in performance. any help? thanks. p.s. this is a 99 accord ex. -mike

The maintence light is only a function of how many miles are on the odometer. Turn the car off, hold the reset button in, turn the car on and continue to hold the button in until the light turns off.

Did your car not come with an owner's manual? Or maybe you couldnt find the search button?

And you don't have freon. Freon has been "illegal" for about 10 years, only certain automotive technicians can obtain it. You have Ra-114a refrigerant.

I took my maintenance light bulb out so I dont have to bother with it h:

haha, i reset it, thanks. but there is a freon leak and im getting the hose replaced that is leaking. will they be able to add new freon or will i be airconditionless for the rest of my life in this car??

It's R-134a...and the majority of us in the automotive field, still refer to it as "freon". What can I say...old habits die hard.
