Can you help me please! I am a qualified mechanic, but I have been out of the business for several years.

My car was running fine. I parked to make a brief stop, on return I tried to start the car only to find the engine would turn over but not start. After several turns of the key the car would start but there would be no power eg.
Once the accelerator is pressed the engine would stall then cut out. My first impression was that it was the petrol pump.

I contacted the AA and was informed by their mechanic that it was my Petrol Pump. I had the Pump tested and was informed the Pump was working fine. I am now baffelled!! the pump has been checked and I have also checked the Manifold still with no joy, what else can it be?

I used to have a 94 Accord EX sedan. I once had a similar problem and was told that it was the relay that controls the pump. Good luck.
