Same here sometimes when it gets really hot. I had the problem occur a lot more in the past before I changed my fuel filter. Now it only does it rarely.

Your PGM-FI Main Relay is going bad. This is a bad problem on 4g's. You can search here or on CB7tuner.com for a how-to on replacing it. The relay will cost anywhere between 30 and 40 dollars.

get a refurbished relay... they usually use better solder on them... you can find them on ebay.

what exactly are the symptoms for the PGM-FI main relay going bad?...cuz i've figured out that i only have this problem when i make really short drives, park, then try to start the car again w/in a few minutes...also on an unrelated fix-it thing, is exposed electrical wiring from my headunit bad?

i was hoping they used the same ones on some newer cars so i could get one from the junkyard. my cars pretty much dead til i get one and i need it this weekend. oh, and for the guys having this problem, if you take loose the 10mm nut holding the relay in place and let it hang you can smack it on the steering shaft thing while you try to crank it and it'll probably start. this only works for so long and it's not really recommended but if you need your car, you need your car. I've also heard of using some kinda spray that lowers the temperature, but i havent used it so i dunno too much about it.

pretty much the same as a bad fuel pump except it happens infrequently. it'll turn over strong but won't crank. the simplest way i know of to tell is when you turn your key to the position right before it cranks the CEL comes on, when this light goes off youll hear a click from under the dash, thats the relay coming on. if you dont hear the click the relays not working properly and your cars not going to crank. I hope that makes sense, if not i'll try to reword it.
