Last night I wasn't paying attention and stupidly backed into another car in a parking lot (doh!). Luckily, there was no damage to the other car, and that's probably because my car took the brunt of the impact. The corner of my bumper was severely "dimpled" (for lack of a better word). The section was about 6 or 7 inches in diameter and about 3 inches deep. I went to sleep very depressed, thinking of ways I could possibly fix it myself. Well, this morning I drove in to class and parked it out in the sun. When I came back about 4 hours later, it had completely corrected itself! I mean completely, aside from a little bit of cracked and scuffed paint (which suddenly doesn't seem so bad), you wouldn't be able to tell that anything had ever happened. I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with the fact that my car's black, and gets hotter in the sun than most others. Anyway, I am just so thankful. Anyone else have anything similar happen to them?

 

i think it happen because it was the back bumper isntead of the front. i was at a red light and i just sat there and watch a car hit one of those lincon town car, the town car was black and the second he got hit the bumper just came righ out, it was hit in the corner i saw when it went in and then pop out, was kind of funny but hey no damage. i done 3 front bumpers in 1 yr even hit slow they still broke the bumper. u lucky it wasnt the front.

 

Im new whats up people!...but just a FYI I have had many bumps on various cars Subaru,Mazda,Accord and every time I just get my Heatgun out and "pop" out it comes. Chances are that the sunshine is what did your repair for you.

One day my wife comes home and says...honey I hit the pole at the bank I walk outside to see the bumper has almost a perfect round circle in it...so I pull it off and sit on my front step of my house with the heatgun taking out the bend.
