idling too high?

Default idling too high?

i just got back from tightening my throttle cable. now i got crazy pickup from a stop, but im idiling at about 1700 while in N also it is almost like i got cruise control without pressing the button is this okay for my engine?

It wont hurt it, but its not really recommended. Idle speed should be ~ 750 give or take 50 rpms. All it may do is burn gas at a faster rate since the engine is moving faster, but hey, im no honda technician so i may be wrong.

You tightened it too much. There need to be some slack at idle, you're going to stretch the cable too much at WOT.
And yes idle should be around 500-900 at idle.
