Default Honda MTF, what's the equivelent?

Hi,
In my manual it states that I need to buy MTF (manual transmission fluid)
from Honda. I called my local parts store and they are not familiar with
the Honda MTF, they said either use "GEAR OIL" or use "ATF" (like Mercon III). So I am getting mixed response from people, what should i use?

I'm also using the synchromesh. I havn't had any problems....I just wasn't going to go on a mission to get the oem fluid. Dealership is 25 miles away plus inflated prices.

the synchromesh stuff is made for manual trannies and supposedly helps reduce grinds and make shifts smoother, but i cant really tell cuz my tranny wasnt grinding when i put it in

i used regular oil in my b4 the mtf and u can def. feel the difference, sometimes i would grind 1,2,3 if the tranny wasnt warmed up, now i dont grind any of em and i dont ned to warm up the tranny at all. so go wit mtf...
