Default Suspension Options...

I'm sure this debate has been talked over time and again, but I guess I just want people's experienced opinions real quick...My car's stock shocks are pretty much blown (Previous owner had Sprint Springs...not a good combo in the long run) Anyway, here are my options:

A) Koni Yellows + Eibach Pro kits + Camber Kit = ~$750 installed
B) Tein Coilovers.

Here's my question for the experienced accords out there (Eliteaccord, sweetaccord, TJ...would really appreciate your input) What's the difference between Tein SS and HA, is it just the 16 way adjustable dampening? Also, pricing...what kind of prices am I looking at with the teins and is it worth the extra investment? I don't plan on lowering very much, just enough to get about a 1 finger gap on 18's with a Wings West W Type Kit (guessing around 1.8")

Also, if anyone has some Teins to sell me...hjchen@sbcglobal.net...i'm in the LA, SGV area.

if you want to lower your car 1.8" then Pro-Kit isn't want you want because its only a 1.2" drop. I would go for Sportlines which is a 1.75" drop all around. As for the Teins, i believe the SS aren't available for 5g accords only the HA, but from what i hear they are awesome full coilover systems. I plan on upgrading to them when i get more money, i'm currently on KYB AGX's with Pro-Kit.

Elite, thanks for the input! Actually...with the Sprint springs (1.5") and stock shocks, I'm already getting some front camber issues. That's why I figure it'll be a good idea to get a camber kit for my car. From what you're saying...I get the feeling that getting Teins for a 1.7" drop is a waste.

Sooo...I guess the verdict is to stay with the koni + prokit setup...Do you guys know if I set the konis at one Perch lower...isn't it only 0.5" lower? so if the prokits are 1.2" + 0.5" from the konis, then it'll be right around 1.7"? How would that be with a W Type for my car?

Wing819, I'm getting the shocks and camber kit from a really good hookup for approximately 540 and California Tint in Rosemead tells me they can get me the ProKits for like 160 and another 60 for install...so I'm looking at around $760ish...might come out to be a little more...i'm prepared for $800 with this setup.

Thanks again, Elite...just for the sake of comparison...how much would a set of Teins cost me?

If you can get it between $900-925 that is pretty good.

did you get it from "Originsoundworks" ?? just wondering...cus i know him in person.

but either case...my HA's are holding up really well. i've been in my friends car who has the prokit and it wasn't all that great...well that's compared to mine.

i was also wondering what the stock height is for a 4gen accord?? 90' to be exact so i can find out how much i lowered my car. probably measured by the distance between the fender and the wheel.

actually, junglegym on HS.com has the pro-kit/koni yellow setup and he has 1.5" gap (he has pics of it) in front and a little over 1" in back using the middle perch. the standard koni yellows for 5th gens have 3 perches that are 1" apart. the neuspeed editions of the koni yellows have 5 perches that are 0.5" apart. i believe junglegym has the regular yellows w/3 perches. i got the pro-kits already but a group buy for the neuspeed yellows for $475 fell through...now i'm back to choosing between yellows and bilsteins

yes, where did you find that deal? i paid $190 for my pro-kits and i've looked around for the ingalls camber kit and found $120/130 for the front. that would mean yellows are $440/430 and installation is free.
