I have had that combo on my 1997 SE since March, and I a fairly sure that my front driver side strut is blown. It is making all kinds of popping and squeaking noises, and after a detailed inspection by my Honda shop, they are positive the strut is done. I live in a relatively large city, and some of the roads are good, some are not so good...but I do not believe that we have the worst roads of all time here. I have been told that the AGXs are only meant for a 1.5" drop or less, and the Sportline springs push them over that limit. Right now, I am saving up for Tokico Illuminas, which is what I was told to get in the first place...instead I saved a little cash and now I have to pay the price.
Just a little friendly advice...
Yeah I've also heard that KYB's arent that good pass 1.5in drop.
The only drop I will consider would be
H&R O.E springs which lower your car .75/front .50/rear.
After the springs settle I would say 1in/front .75/rear.
With Tokico Illumina shocks so I can adjust the comfort.

I would get atleast 40 series if not 45 series tires and go with the eibach pro kit or the groud control coil overs. other wise the rides gonna suck and sooner or later you'll have a bent wheel...this is in terms of NY roads and east coast weather.
18" wheels even with 45 or even 40's for tires should leave very little wheel well space left when all is said and done, so I really question if you need to lower it. I can see your point if you went with 17" wheels, but not with 18's.

I have a 96 Honda Accord LX with 18 in rims with 215/35/18 tires and my rims haven't broken.. and trust me i'm an aggressive driver.... I drive all over New York City and I have passed through some deep pot holes and everythings is good. My rims are perfect except for some side scratches due to parking too close to the curb. Right now I am looking to putting a good suspension setup because right now I have some coilover sleeves with the stock shocks. Believe me its not as bad as people put them.. but I am looking for more of a smooth ride.

I dont know how old this is but i would like to reply because just last week a friend pop a tired and the rim was so badly damage that he is looking to buy a new one and this happen in the grand central parkway not even local streets. I have full coilovers and u most already know all the advantage full coilovers have over the others. I drive slow and careful but is just too much here i think we are #3 with the worse road in us.
