Default Once again, the stock 96 Accord 4D AT beat my heavily modded 6thG

Him: 96 Accord I4 (F22) Automatic, stock, 180k miles
Me: 98 Accord I4 (F23) Automatic, AEM V1, DC Header, GReddy Evo2, NGK plugs, 103k miles

Disclaimer: Do a search for my old thread, because this was performed on a closed road (i.e. privately owned) with no traffic, and ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF CIVILIAN CASUALTIES.

I really figured after I put on my GReddy I'd have him, but NO. From a dead stop, I had him up until 80MPH (he was about a bumper behind from 0-80) then at 80 he just overtook me by about 1/4 of a car length. We both gave up around 100 due to lack of road.

Things I think could be wrong:

- I'm launching at 2200RPM (brake torque method for automatics, 2200 is the maximum I can rev without the car moving from 1st. I assume he is launching at around the same)
- What do I need to clean, or what could be clogged?
- Am I stealing too much power from the car, or adding too much weight? (aftermarket speakers/deck, subs+amp, neon lights/LED lights)
- Dirty air filter? (How do you clean the AEM filters?)

What else could be wrong? This is one of my good friends and it's not like he's hiding the NoZ or anything, we don't race for money, it's mainly who can get to the other side of my property fastest heh.

first off, i wouldnt call youre car "heavily modded". Its got no more than a few basic performance boltons. Whats the stock hp on both your cars? do they both have VTEC?

This could make the world of difference. Also, looks like you got bigger, heavier wheels. That will also slow you down.

those 2 are so slow that i dont even bother to try mine. this automatic car can hardly even move, with the mods u have my friends complete stock 96 coupe manual will leave u 20cars behind by the time u step on the gas.

as he said above vtech is the only diff there. if not is the driving maybe.
