dun know if this helps but i had to install headlights with my WHOLE bumper off, i have a 4th gen (90-93), its a pain to get off but there is 2? bolts on top, 2 on bottom and 2 on the side of the headlight. almost the same thing with a 6th gen, bumper cover is real easy on a 6th gen but i have no experience on a 5th gen, sorry.

Buy a Haynes manual and follow the directions.

Seriously its a pretty simple operation but a Haynes manual makes these simple projects a lot easier.

Ya had to replace my headlight after an accident I had in my 4th gen. When I discovered that full removal of the bumper was necessary I bout shit myself. Once the bumper's off the job becomes quite e-z and self-explanatory though. have fun.
