Default non-platinum plugs in 01 EX-V6

I tried a search but I didn't find a clear answer. Would it be safe to use non platinum spark plugs in a 01 Accord EXV6. NGK's website has a part listing for regular plugs that will fit in a V6, basically they are the plugs that were used in 98-99 Accord 4cy before went all platinum in 2000. My car has about 50,000 miles on it and I know that the plugs should last till about 105,000 miles, but to me that seems to long and I would rather replace them with regular plugs every 20-30K than have the same plugs in the car when its about 6 years old. I want the car to be in tip top shape and run for a long time. I pulled the plugs and the gaps are within specs but they are slightly discolored since they are 50,000 miles old and a few sets of copper plugs are still less expensive then platinums. Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

yes you can use copper plugs or i suggest iridiums in the V6. honda uses the platinums so they can say 105K before your first tune-up, but unfortunetly platinums are not a perfomance plug as some manufacturers may lead you to believe, ie: bosch. if you had an I4 i would say NGK or denso coppers cause they are easy to replace every 1-2 yrs. since the back 3 plugs on the V6 are a PITA to change i would get iridiums since they will last longer and provide better performance than platinums. i suggest NGK iridiums since they are cheaper than denso and have a thicker tip which will last longer.
