Default How loud is Cat back exhaust?

I ask because I'm thinking about getting an exhaust put in my accord, but I wonder how really loud it might be. It's not unheard of for me to be driving around clients etc. I don't want to have a really loud kids car when I have to drive to a golf club or something of the sort.

So, how loud would a cat back exhaust be for everyday driving?
Anybody have a sound file?

Thanks!

Sounds like you need the Apexi WS.

If you wanted to go with Exhaust improvements and didn't want to take a chance with an actual exhaust being loud you could always get a performance header. Those help with HP and air flow too and don't give off the street racer sound.

but with an aftermarket header, since the flow of the fumes is greater wouldnt that cause the muffler to have a louder tone. Maybe a deep tone?

Id take some look into the Brosal Brospeed catback exhaust system. Those are extremly quiet exhausts and they dont look real bad either. I recently put on one of those on my friends 93 4door civic, you can barely hear his exhaust.

What engine, and car do you have??

If you want real power with no noise sacrifice on a 4cyl; I also say to get headers. Best bang for the buck power wise.

If you have an EX, I've read that the stock exhaust header is almost as good if not equal to aftermarket headers. Also have read that unless you add catback upgrade, header upgrade will not be noticeable as you still have the stock exhaust causing a bottleneck. I added an AEM CAI and was suprised at the noise from the engine compartment but fortunately it's only above 3k rpm.
