Default 94 EX undergoing yearly maint

Have a few questions,

I just bought this car from a friend about 4 months ago. Its a 94 EX Auto with 148K miles on it. I have been having problems with the fuel gauge and so next month I am going to replace that myself. But I recently moved to Dallas, TX and were starting to get into the summer months. Can I get my AC recharged/tested/etc anywhere or should I really take it to the dealer? Tune up parts, dealer or autozone? Tranny flush is going to get done at the dealer that much I have read here. I think thats it ... any other advise to keep this thing running another 50-60K?

Thanks

Sean

for the fuel gauge, its most likely the sending unit in the tank... common issue.... the gauge tends to not read the proper amount of gas, or sometimes drops to "E" even if the tank is full. The A/C can be done pretty much anywhere... just look around for places that specifically test and recharge the A/C... try to look for a nicer shop too so you can be sure their equipment is good. Tune up parts can be had at autozone or another auto parts store... price is MUCH more reasonable, quality is the same and usually there is a lifetime warranty. As long as the car is and always was taken pretty well care of, like oil changes and other routine matenience, you'll get at least another 100kmi out of it!
