Default Is it possible to switch odometers?

Well, to make a long story short, I got sick of my indiglo gauges. The glue started wearing off for the second time (I reglued it the first time) so all the needles are sticking on the surface really bad now, plus I ****ed up the tach gauge a little on install. Plus the indiglo thing stopped working (I have to buy a new control unit to fix that).

So I bought the 01-02 Coupe V6 gauge pod off EBay. That pod has 29k on it and my car has 143k. A slight discrepancy. So I'm wondering, would it be easier to take the faces off the EBay pod and put them on my pod or would it be easier to switch my 144k odometer into that pod? The problem with the first one is that removing the needles is apparently a nono, and the problem with the second one is that I'm not sure if it can be done. I bought the pod off EBay to be safe, since buying all the gauges new from Honda would only be like $5 cheaper. I figure I can mess around with my current gauge needles a bit, and if I can't get them off or if I screw it up I'll just pop the new pod in. What do you guys think?

Thanks.
