Default Accord ('92) cranks, won't turn over

undefinedundefinedundefined

All of a sudden, my Accord won't start! :upset:
It cranks, is getting gas, but it won't catch! This 1st happened on a 95 degree day, but there is no change when it is cooler.

The battery is new, installed the Tuesday before last (when my mechanic repaired a short - crunched wire in the trunk, which left the trunk light on all the time). The horn, lights work fine.

I have heard that it isn't getting any spark, but it seems there are lots of reasons for that. Having just put out $220. for the battery/short repair, and still paying off my high interest credit card for the almost $700. timing chain/water pump/fuel filter, plus the $1400 body damage from a hit and run, I really can't afford to just replace things one after the other, until I hit the right one.

I can't even drive it to the mechanic, so I'm going to have to do it myself. I'm supposed to be going to WV this weekend to visit my nephews (who have been missing their Aunt). Their dad is in Iraq, so they esp look forward to having family around. I had to cancel the last trip due to the timing chain, and I hate to have to disappoint them again!

Does anyone have an idea as to what is wrong?

bad news for you i think. Distributors seem to be a notoriously bad part on 4th gens, dunno bout 5th gen. Hopefully you know enough to change it out urself, cuz parts and labor it cost me 400 2 get fixed. That ended up being my problem when my car would do the same thing. It doesn't start PERIOD!?!? Usually mine would do that, i'd leave it alone for 15 min, then it would start right up. Extremely annoying and it made me late for work often.

Could be the distributor, low oil level, etc. I got my distributor replaced and 2 months later one day it still did the same thing you are describing. Other times when my oil level was low it also had problems.
