Default Body Kit + Paint Job

By the end of the summer I should have at least 580$ to spend on my car. Im planning on buying a Black Widow body kit, but I then I would also have to get a paint job.

The website im looking at sales the BWI kit for 400$ (no S/H charge). A good paint job will cost me about 200$..(right?) Would I be able to find a cheaper BWI kit and about how much would it cost me to get it installed?

$200 to paint the kit or the entire car? because a good paint paint job for the whole car would be at least $2k... and for the kit alone.. id say $3-500.

A good paint job will cost a lot more than 200, because that price is on the lowest end in terms of quality paint job pricing. Maaco's low end paint job cost around 270 I believe. But, 2k for a good paint job...that seems way to high. For a good paint job I would say between 5-900 bucks depending on the types of paint, places you good to, and the type of finish you want.

well... you and i obviously have different expectations in a paint job. I for one, would NEVER get a $500 paint job on my car. if one plans on keeping their car for awhile, and has a high attention for detail... a $500 paint job aint gonna cut it. Why waste money and not do it right the first time?

Also - 1 year warranty? whooptie shit.

but hey.. whatever floats ur boat- its not my car.

My opinion would differ if my car wasnt worth much $ though.. because putting $5k into paint on a car thats worth $1k is stupid.

becuz when calculated, it is actually cheaper than getting a good paint job for 3k. plus u can change colors.

okay. im going to calculate this for a 10 yr span
cheap paintjob=300 bucks for a 3 yr warranty (which warrants agaoinst fading, dullness, chipping, flaking and other crap)
so for 9 years it costs only around a grand and you can also change paint colors within those 3 years each.

you pay over a grand or even up to 3 grand, it may last you 10 years or more, but what about trying to fix all those scratches or oxidation? does it warrant the paint for up to 10 years? do u really want to look at the same color for 10+ years? it oonly takes a day to bring it in and u can rent a rental car while ur at it.

so...think about it.
the only down point is, the place im talking about is only in norcal i think.

if thats what u want.. go for it.. but its not going to be a GOOD paint job. Change colors each time? and each little rock chip will be the previous color- good? not in my opinion... paint needs to be stripped. and that doesnt = $300 paint job. Also... i dont want masking... i want removing. Front/Rear windshields need to be removed, all trim, door handles, weatherstripping, moonroof, EVERYTHING must come off... prep, etc... You can definately tell when a car has been skipped of necessary steps. and this is not what im looking for....

The estimates ive gotten were all $5k + with LIFETIME warranty. And im sure the car would look flawless... and if garaged and taken care off... it will outlast all the multiple paint jobs you have planned.

but heck.. i got 100% higher standards than you.. so people are different.

I was talking about 200$ for just the kit..

So how about getting the kit installed? whats a good estimate on that?
