Default Unusual question...

Some of you may think im a dbag for asking this, but i dont really care. So ive debated long and hard on my suspension setup. First it was koni yellows with H&R sports, then it was H&R OE sports.......my only real objective with my suspension setup on my new 6th gen is just a slightly stiffer ride reducing body roll and a very subtle drop. So what im leaning towards now is experimenting with the stock springs and using them on the koni yellows. Yes I realize this may not be the optimal setup for performance, but that doesn't matter b/c this car is no autocrossing monster nor a car that i will be hammering the corners in. I just want something that is comfortable to drive around in and will lend me the chance for somewhat more spirited driving. I will be able to adjust stiffness with the struts, i will still maintain normal ride comfort with the OEM springs, and the car can be subtly dropped with the choice of 5 different perches locations on the strut. I just wanted to run this idea by you guys to see if you had any input. once again, i'm not looking for the crazy performance out of this setup...just something comfortable and slightly lower/stiffer. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a plan. Koni Yellows are an excellent shock and you can play with the drop height on them. Might buy some H&R OEMs and see if they fit you on one of the three height settings on the Yellows. Like I said, sounds like you've got it ironed out.

stiffer struts or sways also make the cornering better w/o changing your ride.

Just remember that you really only have the choice of 2 perches on the Koni's for lowering. .25" or .5" lower. Since you said you are looking for a suble drop, I'd at least get the H&R OE's. You may not even be able to to distinguish between 4" of wheel gap and 3.5" of wheel gap. (I'm not claiming that's exact, but just trying to make a point). I'd get the OE's because then at the middle perch you'd have the .5" drop and then you could go up to another .5" in either direction to fine tune the drop to suit your tastes. It may take an inch of drop before it's noticable enough for your tastes.

might aswell not have the yellows, cause being up that high it doesn't really matter anymore what shocks you have, there might be a slight difference in ride quality, but ur not gonna notice it that much

Well that's crap. Adjustable shocks are a benefit even if you're staying at stock height! Cornering won't be incredibly noticable unless you drop a little bit (like he's going to do), but you'll still see an improvement.

im going to be putting the struts on next weekend most likely. im just going to experiment with them and see if i like it and notice anything substantial. if there isn't any real noticeable impact, i will just turn around and sell them. its not a big deal to me. i will keep everyone posted.
